Hajj Badal Fund
Once again this year, we at UmmahServe plan to provide financial assistance to those qualifying Muslims who wish to have a hajj badal performed, but cannot afford to do so.
No doubt, hajj is only incumbent upon a Muslim if they satisfy the criteria of being physically able to undertake the hajj journey and performing the necessary rites, as well as possessing sufficient funds to do so. In the case of women, there is an additional requirement that she be accompanied by her mahram.
Yet we are also regularly reminded of the desire of some Muslims to perform the hajj – despite being unable to fulfil these important criteria. It is for them we extend our hajj badal services to fulfil their wish.
Now in our third year running this programme, we have to date financially facilitated the hajj badal on behalf of 6 qualifying Muslims, wa lillaahil-hamd.
This is the first year we are opening the door to those who now wish to share in the reward by contributing to the Hajj Badal Fund – and thereby facilitate a hajj badal on behalf of those who cannot afford it, and help them attain Paradise in shaa.-Allaah.
Abu Hurairah (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhu) reported that the Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
«From one ‘Umrah to the next is an expiation for any sins committed in between, and the reward for an accepted Hajj is nothing less than Paradise» – transmitted by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim
We welcome whatever contribution you are able to make, and indeed your reward is with Allaah (‘Azza wa Jall), in shaa.-Allaah.
